Our history

Wilhelm and Annegret Hess, the parents of the current owner, decided to reopen Hotel Sonneck in 1976. They recognized the potential of the location, which Mr and Mrs Traue expanded when they took over in 1995. Bus tour groups determined the daily business for many years. Vacation guests from Berlin enjoyed their three-week vacation in Nordhessen. Over the years, the target group changed. A three-week vacation trip became a short break. Today, the focus is on conferences and seminars.

Actively shaping our future

Hotels need to take an active role in shaping their future. As a GreenSign certified hotel in Nordhessen, we use a variety of approaches. Renovations with sustainable raw materials in cooperation with regional partners. Important steps in the area of waste avoidance – across all departments. As well as measures to generate energy. All efforts have one goal: to continue to provide guests with a place to feel good.
